Applied materials

Applied Materials is the global leader in materials engineering solutions. We are involved in producing virtually every new chip and advanced display in the world. We design, build and service manufacturing equipment for the semiconductor and display industries.

Our innovations are at the foundation of the technology that transforms every part of our lives. We offer an exciting place to grow and learn alongside some of the best people you’ll ever meet. Together we make possible a better future.

Applied Materials corporate office is in Santa Clara, USA. The company employs around 33 000 employees in 24 countries. Applied Materials Finland, the Picosun business unit, is located in Masala, Kirkkonummi and Espoo and has around 200 employees. Here we concentrate on ALD, Atomic Layer Deposition. ALD is a thin film coating method which is used to fabricate ultra-thin, highly uniform and conformal material layers for several different industries. It is used both in semiconductor manufacturing and in for example in LEDs, optics and optoelectronics, anti-tarnishing and corrosion protection and medical devices and implants.
